For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
HUCKSTER. Any person who sells food or other products not produced, manufactured or made by himself or herself, which he or she has purchased for resale, by virtue of or which have been consigned for him or her for sale.
MARKET MASTER. Any person who, by virtue of owning, leasing, or controlling vacant property, rents or leases, stands, stalls or places the same thereon for the buying and selling of articles of food.
PERSON. All natural persons, firms, partnerships, corporations and all associations of natural persons, incorporated or unincorporated, whether acting by themselves or by a servant, agent or employee. All PERSONS who violate any of the provisions of this subchapter, whether as owner or as agent, servant or employee, shall, except as herein otherwise provided, be equally liable as principals.
PRODUCER. Any person who vends in a public market, articles or products grown or produced by him, her or any member of his or her family residing with him or her upon property owned, rented or controlled by him or her. It shall include any person who represents exclusively a non-profit association of producers of farm products which markets the products produced by its members.
PUBLIC MARKET or MARKET PLACE. A place on vacant property used for buying and selling farm products and the accommodation of producers’ and hucksters’ wagons in which the products are brought to or taken from the place.
