§ 116.001 LICENSE REQUIRED.
   (A)   No person or persons shall follow or engage in the business or occupation of a hawker or peddler, or the helper of a hawker or peddler, within the city without first securing a license from the City Clerk.
   (B)   No more than two persons, including the owner, shall sell or operate on or in connection with any hawker or peddler’s vehicle. The owner or person in charge of the vehicle shall have a proper hawker and peddler’s license and the other person, if any, shall have a helper’s license.
   (C)   Upon the issuance of a license to a hawker or peddler, there shall be delivered to each licensee using a wagon or other vehicle in peddling, one license plate which shall be furnished free of charge by the city. The license plate shall be made of some durable material of a design to be determined by the City Clerk and shall contain the number of the license, the year issued and the words “Peddler, City of Hamtramck.” The licensee shall affix the license plate to the right side of his or her vehicle in a conspicuous place. No person shall use a wagon or other vehicle peddling or vending on which the license plate is not so displayed. No licensee shall transfer the license plate from one vehicle to another. Licenses issued under this subchapter are neither assignable or transferable.
