§ 33.002 WORK WEEK.
   Except as provided for herein or in any collective bargaining agreement, the work week of all police officers shall be for each police officer five days in every seven days, with two days off duty in each seven-day period and two days leave of absence shall be in addition to a furlough of 20 days in each year, of which at least ten days shall be consecutive. Provided, however, that this shall not prohibit the Chief of Police from suspending the leave of absence or furlough temporarily as a matter of discipline for misconduct or dereliction of any police officer. Provided, further, that this section shall not apply in case of an emergency and the existence of an emergency shall be within the sole determination of the Mayor.
