All money belonging to the City of Hamtramck shall be deposited in such depositories as may be selected by the city council, and all interest received on such deposits shall be charged to the city treasurer and credited to the City in the proper funds. The city treasurer shall report to the mayor, city manager and council each month the amount of interest credited to the City and shall deposit all city monies received by him.
