The person hired for this position shall work under the direction of the Building Inspector. The person shall provide technical assistance in the issuance of permits for building construction, ensure compliance with the provisions of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code (N.J.S.A. 52:27D-119 et seq.) and do all related work associated with the aforementioned. The duties include but are not limited to the following:
A. Review applications for construction permits to ensure they are complete.
B. Issue permits after authorization by the department head or appropriate Subcode official.
C. Assist the general public in completing applications for permits.
D. Calculate fees for permits.
E. Conduct research and gather information.
F. Maintain necessary records and files.
G. Prepare reports, narratives and correspondence.
H. Handle the typing and recordkeeping requirements of the office.
