The New Jersey Legislature has enacted N.J.S.A. 40A:9-139. This statute gives every municipality the right to create, by ordinance, the position of Municipal Attorney. The individual appointed to this position shall handle the legal affairs for the municipality. Editor's Note: See also Ch. 38, Outside Counsel Fee Schedule.
