Nothing herein contained shall be construed to prohibit the taking of the fire apparatus, fire-fighting equipment and vehicles, emergency apparatus, equipment and vehicles, highway apparatus, equipment and vehicles and police apparatus, equipment and vehicles of said Town of Hammonton outside the limits thereof by persons having lawful custody of such apparatus and equipment and vehicles for the purpose of having the same repaired.
