§ 6-26. Establishment of Board; membership; terms; compensation.

   A.   There is hereby established a Rent Control Board of the Town of Hammonton, consisting of seven members to be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Town Council. Two of the seven members appointed to the Board shall be Council members of the Town of Hammonton. The other five members appointed to the Board shall be citizens and residents of the Town of Hammonton. Three initial members (one Council member and two citizens of the Town of Hammonton) shall serve for one-year terms, and three (one Council member and two citizens of the Town of Hammonton) shall serve for two-year terms and one for a three-year term. All subsequent members shall serve for two-year terms. There shall be no compensation for the members of this Board.
   B.   The Mayor and Town Council shall appoint two alternate members. Alternate members shall be designated as Alternate No. 1 and Alternate No. 2 and shall serve in rotation during the absence or disqualification of regular member or members. The term of each alternate member shall be two years.
