§ 48-6. Death or serious illness in immediate family.

   A.   "Immediate family" shall be determined by individual, bargaining unit or union contract.

   B.   Any employee who has a death in the immediate family, as defined by their employment contract, shall receive paid funeral leave as prescribed by individual, bargaining unit or union contract.

   C.   Time off for serious illness leave for an employee's immediate family member, as prescribed by employment contract, shall be determined by individual, bargaining unit or union contract and shall require a doctor's note attesting to the illness of the employee's immediate family member being life threatening.
