The Mayor shall sign all commissions, licenses, and permits granted by authority of the City Council, except as otherwise provided, and such other acts and duties as by law or ordinance may require his or her official signature. The Mayor shall grant licenses for the purposes authorized by ordinances to such residents of the city or other persons as he or she may deem proper, unless the City Council shall otherwise designate and provide, and he or she may revoke the same for cause.
