Any motor vehicle found standing in a fire zone which has been established in accordance with §§ 70.01 to 70.09, inclusive, or any motor vehicle found standing within 10 feet of a fire hydrant may be towed, upon the direction of a police officer, the fire chief, the fire marshal, any deputy fire chief or any person acting in the capacity of deputy fire chief, to any public or private parking facility, and all expenses of the towing any subsequent storage shall be borne by the registered owner of the vehicle.
