A. Assault: It shall be unlawful for any person to commit "assault" which is hereby defined as any conduct which places another in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery. (1996 Code § 8-1-2)
B. Battery: It shall be unlawful for any person to commit battery. A person commits battery if he intentionally or knowingly, without legal justification and by any means, causes bodily harm to an individual or makes physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with an individual. (1996 Code § 8-1-4)
