8-2-5: DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE:
   A.   Authority To Discontinue Service: As an additional and concurrent method of enforcing the lien of the city for charges provided for in section 8-2-4 of this chapter, the city council is hereby authorized and directed, at the end of five (5) days after the date of the first delinquency of any such charges, to cut off the water and sewer services from the premises to which such services were furnished, and said services shall remain cut off until all such charges, plus penalties and interest thereon, shall be paid.
   B.   Billing And Collection; Disconnect Pipe: Charges for sewerage service shall be billed and collected in the same manner as charges for water service pursuant to chapter 1 of this title. In the event of nonpayment of charges for sewerage service, a delinquency charge shall be payable and water service may be terminated as provided in chapter 1 of this title. In addition, the city, after notice, may cause the pipe or conduit from the affected property to be disconnected from the city sewerage system. (1996 Code § 6-4-5; amd. 2010 Code)
