6-3-2: PARKING LANES DESIGNATED:
The city is hereby authorized to cause lanes or markings to be painted or placed upon the curbs and/or upon the streets, designating the parking space of each vehicle, which said lanes or markings shall be so painted as to show either parallel or diagonal parking at such places. It shall be unlawful, where such spaces are designated, to park any vehicle across any such lanes or markings or to park any vehicle in such position that the same shall not be within the space so designated by such lanes or markings. Where such spaces are not designated, it shall be unlawful to park except when headed with the traffic, parallel with the edge of the curb, or other street boundary and with the curbside edge of the vehicle within eighteen inches (18") of the curb or other street boundary.
