§ 36.03 POLICE OFFICER.
   (A)   The office of city police officer is hereby established and shall consist of a minimum of three officers.
   (B)   The powers and duties of the office of city police officer shall be as stated in the adopted position description for said position as contained in the classification plan for city employees, or as otherwise provided by the City Council.
   (C)   The individual holding the position of city police officer shall take the following oath upon assuming office:
I, (state your name), do solemnly swear to faithfully execute the duties and fulfill the responsibilities of the office of city police officer to the very best of my abilities and with honesty, dependability and integrity. I do solemnly swear to uphold in the conduct of my office, all ordinances of the City of Guthrie, Kentucky and all laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and of the Government of the United States. I do further solemnly swear to conduct myself at all times with a dignity of purpose and manner which will bring credit to the citizens of the City of Guthrie, Kentucky.
   (D)   The city police officer shall, before entering the duties of office, execute a bond to the city in such penal sum of $8,000, conditioned for the faithful performance of duties, including the duties of all offices of which he or she is ex officio incumbent. The bond shall be approved by the City Council.
   (E)   The individual holding the position of city police officer shall be compensated for his efforts in accordance with the adopted pay plan, or as otherwise provided by the City Council.
