§ 30.05 CREDIT CARD; PROCESSING FEE.
   (A)   Credit card fee.
      (1)   The municipal official who collects payment for any service provided by the city is hereby authorized to accept payment by credit card of the service.
      (2)   The municipal official who collects payment for any service provided by the city is hereby authorized to collect a fee for processing payments by credit card (credit card fee).
      (3)   A “credit card” means a card, plate, or similar device used to make purchases on credit or to borrow money.
      (4)   The credit card fee shall be collected whenever a municipal official accepts payment by credit card for a service provided by the city.
      (5)   The fee for processing a payment by credit card shall be as provided for in § 25.00 of the Fee Schedule found in Appendix 1 of this Code.
   (B)   Service charge. If, for any reason, a payment by credit card is not honored by the credit card company on which the funds are drawn, the city may collect a service charge from the person who owes the payment. The service charge is in addition to the original credit card fee and is for the collection of that original amount. The amount of the service charge is the same amount as the fee charged for the collection of a check drawn on an account with insufficient funds.
   (C)   Deposit of the credit card fee. The credit card fee or service charge shall be deposited into the General Fund, or other funds as directed or required by law, of the city.
