§ 90.08 ANIMALS PROHIBITED.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to import, offer for sale, keep, maintain, or harbor in the city swine, poultry, any wild animal, including but not limited to monkey, or other nonhuman primate, skunk, raccoon, jaguar, leopard, lynx, tiger, lion, ocelot, bobcat, cheetah, mountain lion, panther, bear, wolf, coyote, fox or other carnivorous animal. Hybrid animals, resulting from crossing wild with domestic species, are also prohibited.
   (B)   It is hereby prohibited and it shall be unlawful for any person to import, offer for sale or trade, keep, maintain, or harbor in the city any endangered species of animal as defined by the United States Department of the Interior or the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any person to raise, keep, breed, or maintain more than one adult cow, horse, mule, jack, jennet, goat, sheep or any other livestock on any premises. Such premise must have an overall area of at least one grazing acre per livestock. In the event a foal, calf or other offspring is born, such foal, calf or offspring shall be permitted to be kept up to six months of age or until weaned, whichever is the latter.
   (D)   This section shall not apply to:
      (1)   A bona fide publicly or privately owned zoological park;
      (2)   A bona fide research institution using animals for scientific research;
      (3)   A circus duly authorized to do business in the city.
   (E)   In residential areas within the city limits, households are limited to no more than four adult dogs and one litter of puppies. Litters may be kept through their weaning period.
   (F)   In residential areas within the city limits, households are limited to no more than four adult cats and one litter of kittens. Litters may be kept through their weaning period.
