§ 36.19 DESIGNATED OFFICERS; APPOINTMENT.
   (A)   Designated officers. The officers of the Volunteer Fire Department shall be a Chief, First Assistant Chief, Second Assistant Chief, Secretary-Treasurer and Training Officer. Other positions may be created that are deemed necessary by the Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department. All compensated positions and the salary ranges authorized therefor shall be established by the annual budget or classification ordinance enacted by the City Council. The duties and qualifications for each position in the Volunteer Fire Department, including compensated and volunteer positions, shall be as set forth in the operating manual.

   (B)   Appointment of the Chief and other officers.
      (1)   The City Council shall appoint the Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department.
      (2)   The Chief and other compensated positions of the Fire Department shall be paid in accordance with the annual budget or classification ordinance enacted by the City Council.
