5-2-9: COMPRESSION BRAKES:

ENGINE COMPRESSION BRAKE: Any motor vehicle brake that is operated by the compression of the engine of the motor vehicle or any unit or part thereof. An engine compression brake is also referred to as a "Jake brake".

B. Use Of Compression Brakes: No person shall use motor vehicle brakes which are in any way activated or operated by the compression of the engine of such motor vehicle or any unit or part thereof within the corporate limits of the Town of Guernsey.

C. Penalty For Violation: Violation of this section by any person is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in an amount not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00), plus costs. Violation of this section shall be deemed a separate offense on each day that a violation shall occur. (Ord. 2018-002, 1-16-2018)
