6-2-9: NONLIABILITY OF ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS:
The county building officer, or any of his subordinates, charged with the enforcement of this title, while acting for the county, shall not hereby render himself liable personally, and he is hereby relieved from all personal liability for any damage that may accrue to persons or property as a result of any act required or permitted in the discharge of their officer duties. Any suit instituted against any officer or employee because of an act performed by them in the discharge of his duties and under the provisions of this title shall be defended by the legal representative of the county until the final termination of the proceedings. In no case shall the building officer or any of his subordinates be liable for costs in any action, suit or proceeding that may be instituted in pursuance of the provisions of this title; and any officer of the building department, acting in good faith and without malice, shall be free from liability for acts performed under any of this title's provisions or by reason of any act or omission in the performance of his officer duties in connection therewith.
