A. Beginning January 1, 2016, no person shall conduct or carry on the business of installing, repairing, or pumping the tank of a private sewage disposal system or any associated components, including, but not limited to, the following: septic tanks, subsurface seepage system, mechanical components, etc., within the county of Grundy unless they have registered with the Grundy County health department.
B. An annual contractor's registration fee (adopted by ordinance) shall be required for all private sewage disposal installation and pumping contractors operating within the county of Grundy. This fee is nonrefundable.
C. The Grundy County health department requires the following to register as a contractor:
1. A valid Illinois department of public health private sewage disposal installation and/or pumper's license.
2. Pay the required annual registration fee to the Grundy County health department.
D. All registrations shall expire on December 31 of the year they are issued.
E. A homeowner who occupies a single-family dwelling and who is installing the private sewage disposal system which serves the residence on their own property is exempt from this requirement. (Ord. 2015-013, 10-13-2015, eff. 1-1-2016)
