(a) Full-time Recreation Department Staff (who have appropriate swim instruction certification) may receive compensation for providing private/semi-private and group swim instruction as independent contractors.
(b) Staff shall receive the approved rate of pay for instruction per contract.
(c) Staff shall conduct swim instruction at times which do not conflict with their scheduled work hours. Staff must work sufficient hours to fully perform their normal full-time duties. All normal full-time work and swim instruction work will be documented in notes area of timesheet. Documentation of Swim instruction contractor work on timesheet will only be used for verification purposes.
(d) Failure to comply with the foregoing provisions of this section may result in disciplinary action including termination, and may also constitute a violation of the Ohio Ethics Laws. (Ord. 19-008. Passed 3-25-19.)
