The Mayor shall appoint, at a salary within the salary range adopted by Council, an administrative assistant who shall under the supervision and direction of the Mayor serve as the full time administrative head of the City's operations. He shall be chosen on the basis of his executive and administrative qualifications in the profession of public management, as shown by the adequacy of his technical training and his successful experience in public administration. He shall have no fixed term of office, but shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. (Amended 11-7-17)
