1026.10 OBSTRUCTING STREETS OR VISION; PRUNING REQUIRED.
   (a)   Each person owning or occupying real property bordering on any street, upon which property there may be trees, shall prune such trees in such manner that they will not obstruct or shade street lights or obstruct the passage of pedestrians on sidewalks, the vision of traffic signs or the view of any street or alley intersection.
   (b)   The minimum clearance of any overhanging portion thereof shall be twelve feet over sidewalks, and twelve feet over all streets, except truck thoroughfares, which shall have a clearance of sixteen feet.
   (c)   If any person who owns real property bordering on any street fails to prune trees as herein provided, the Shade Tree Commission shall order such person to so prune such trees within ten days after receipt of a written notice to prune.
   (d)   When a person to whom an order is directed fails to comply within the specified time, the Village may prune such trees, and the exact cost thereof shall be assessed to the owner as provided by law in the case of special assessments.
