648.10 MINORS' CURFEW.
   (a)   No minor under the age of eighteen years shall be or remain upon any public street, alley or common, or upon railroad grounds, or loiter about public halls and buildings, or on or about other public places within the Village, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of the following day, unless accompanied by some person of mature years who is the parent, guardian or person having the legal custody of such child, or who is duly authorized by such parent or guardian to have custody and care of such child, with the following exceptions:
      (1)   When any regularly scheduled school activity, or a social or athletic event organized and supervised by any established public, religious or civic organization for the youth of the community, lasts to or after the hours set forth above, any minor who has been in attendance at such school activity or social or athletic event shall have a reasonable time after the conclusion thereof in which to return home.
      (2)   The provisions of this section shall not apply to any minor engaged in lawful employment, requiring him or her to be upon any street, alley, common or public place during such prohibited hours, in the proper discharge or his or her duties while so employed.
   (b)   No parent, guardian or person having the legal custody of a minor under the age of eighteen years shall permit, allow or suffer such child to violate division (a) hereof unless such minor is accompanied by such parent, guardian or person having legal custody or such minor, or some person of mature years duly authorized by such parent, guardian or person having legal custody of such minor, to accompany such minor.

   (c)   Whoever, being a minor under the age of eighteen years, violates any of the provisions of this section shall be dealt with in accordance with Juvenile Court law and procedure.
   (d)   Whoever, being an adult, violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
