In addition to his or her regular compensation, as provided by ordinance, the Solicitor shall be paid additional compensation for all court appearances, including preparation therefor, and extraordinary services, as approved by Council, at a rate specified in a contract by and between the Solicitor and the Village, except that attendance at the first Council meeting and the first additional hour shall not be compensated for.
