Whenever any building or structure or part thereof is being demolished, constructed, reconstructed, altered or repaired in a hazardous manner, or in violation of any provision of this part or any other city ordinance, or in violation of any provision of any regulatory code herein adopted, or in violation of the terms of the permit or permits issued therefor, or in such manner as to endanger life or property, the appropriate inspector may order the work to be immediately stopped. Such work shall not be resumed until adequate measures are taken for the protection of life and property and satisfactory evidence is offered that further work will be prosecuted carefully, in a workmanlike manner, and in conformity with this article and other ordinances relating thereto. Violation of a stop work order shall constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor.
