Whenever a water leak occurs between the curb box and the water meter when the meter is located in the building, the city shall give the property owner written notice of same stating that the leak shall be repaired within five days. If the property owner does not cause the leak to be repaired within five days, the city shall bill the property owner for wasted water at the rate of 3,600 gallons per day from the date of the notice to repair the leak. The water wasted shall be charged for at the water rates then in effect. The city shall have the option of terminating the water service.
