Areas designated as parks or open space shall not be subdivided but shall be shown as a “park” or “open space” on a plat. Land protected pursuant to this section that is intended to be used as a park shall be deeded as a park, regardless of ownership. In order to ensure that open space areas are maintained so that their use and enjoyment as parks and/or open space are not diminished or destroyed, parks and/or open space areas may be owned, preserved and maintained by any mechanism or combination described in § 153.0980 of this chapter.
