(A) The intent of this section is to regulate and restrict the height of structures and objects of natural growth and otherwise regulate the use of property in the vicinity of the city’s airport by creating certain airport zones within the zoned districts, and to define their boundaries by adopting and referring to the city’s airport zoning map.
(B) This section implements the following plan policies.
(1) Land use adjacent to the airport should be reserved for commercial and industrial development related to air transportation or those businesses needing easy access to airport facilities.
(2) Airport-related uses will be encouraged in the areas near the airport.
(3) Residential land uses will be discouraged in the areas where noise exceeds recommended land-use standards.
