§ 2-1 PLATS, MAPS AND DRAWINGS RECORDED BY REGISTER OF DEEDS; REQUIRED FORM AND CONTENTS.
   No plat, map or drawing, or section of or amendment to any such plat, map or drawing, shall be accepted for record by the Register of Deeds of the county which does not bear the name, address and registration number or seal of the engineer or surveyor, the date, scale in feet per inch and the orientation of the property as shown by the north arrow. An indication shall be made as to whether the north index is true, magnetic or grid, and some point shall be located with reference to a known point such as a road intersection or U.S. Geodetic Survey monument. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any plat, map or drawing which is dated prior to September 1, 1971.
