Any license or permit issued pursuant to the provisions of this article which has not been suspended or revoked may be renewed for a period of not to exceed 1 year upon written application to the county sheriff’s office made at least 45 days prior to the expiration of the current valid license or permit. The renewal application shall be on a form provided by the county sheriff’s office and shall contain all of the information required by either section 2.5-42 or 2.5-52, as applicable.
