(1) Establishment of the Position of Procurement Director. There is hereby created the position of Procurement Director, who shall be the County’s principal public procurement official. The Procurement Director shall report to the Deputy County Administrator.
(2) Appointment. In consultation with the County Administrator the Deputy County Administrator shall appoint the Procurement Director. The Procurement Director shall be employed with regard to his professional qualifications in public procurement and level of education. The Procurement Director may employ such staff as may be necessary to perform the functions of the Purchasing Department.
(3) Tenure. The Procurement Director shall be a full time public employee of Greenville County, and subject to the Greenville County Personnel Rules.
