The county ambulance dispatcher shall maintain a current register of rescue companies approved by the commission as meeting its standards for emergency preparedness and rescue capabilities. In referring requests for rescue assistance, the county ambulance dispatcher shall select from such register the company he deems best able to meet the requirements of the existing emergency situation.
