§ 15-12 TRESPASSING, LOITERING, REFUSING TO LEAVE GREENVILLE COUNTY DETENTION CENTER.
   (a)   Findings. County Council finds that the safe and secure operation of the Greenville County Detention Center is hindered by people who trespass or loiter in the detention center or otherwise refuse to leave upon request. County Council further finds that an ordinance addressing this activity is warranted to provide the safe and secure housing of people incarcerated in the detention center, to protect the employees and contractors who provide services within the detention center, and to maintain the public peace, safety, and welfare.
   (b)   Violation. It is unlawful for a person to:
      (1)   Trespass or loiter in or around the Greenville County Detention Center after the Greenville County Assistant County Administrator for Public Safety or his authorized agent gives the person notice to leave; or
      (2)   Refuse to leave, after lawful entry, the Greenville County Detention Center after notice to leave is given by the Greenville County Assistant County Administrator for Public Safety or his authorized agent; or
      (3)   Incite, solicit, urge, encourage, exhort, instigate, or procure a person to violate the provisions of items (1) or (2) of this division.
   (c)   Penalties. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not more than $500 or imprisoned not more than 30 days, or both.
