This chapter shall not affect any existing stations in which a retail gasoline business is now being conducted, nor any improvement that may be made by any person to any site owned or leased in whole or in part for such purpose, so long as the original site is not increased or extended. In the event of an increase or extension, the provisions of this chapter shall apply the same as if such extension or increase was a new or original location.
