244.05   COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR TEMPORARY PATROLMEN.
   (a)   Wages. The wage rates for a patrolman appointed to temporary service in the Police Department shall be as provided for from time to time by Council. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized, with the approval of the Director of Public Safety, to assign salaries provided by Council to such temporary patrolman, taking into consideration such factors as length of employment, quality of service and such other factors as lie within the discretion of the Chief.
   (b)   holiday Pay. A patrolman appointed to temporary service in the Police Department shall receive holiday pay as follows: A patrolman who has worked on a designated holiday, as set forth in the Ohio Revised Code, shall receive pay for such day at double his regular straight-time rate, or such patrolman may elect to receive pay for such day at his regular straight-time rate and one compensatory day off, subject to the scheduling requirements of the Department.
   (c)   Court Time Pay. A patrolman appointed to temporary service in the Police Department who is required to appear in the Mayor's Court, the County Court or the Common Pleas Court while off-duty, upon any matter pertaining to police business, shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times his regular straight-time rate.
