(A) The Town Marshal shall issue an alarm system permit to the person or other legal entity in control of the property upon the submission of an application therefor in accordance with this section unless the Town Marshal finds that any statement made in the application was incomplete or false.
(B) A permit issued pursuant to this section shall be personal to the permit holder and is not transferable. Should the property on which an alarm system is located change ownership or should the entity in control of the property change, then a new application for a permit must be made.
(C) Immediately after receipt of the application for a permit and payment of the permit fee, the Town Marshal shall forward the fee and a copy of the application to the Clerk-Treasurer and to the Volunteer Fire Department. All departments shall archive a copy of the application for their records and shall protect all information on the application as confidential to the extent permitted by state law. However, nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the use of such information for legitimate law-enforcement purposes or for the enforcement of this chapter.
