§ 31.40 RESERVE OFFICERS.
   (A)   Reserve officers may not be members of the regular Police Department but shall have all of the same police powers as regular members except as limited by the rules of the Department.
   (B)   Reserve officers may, at the discretion of the Town Council, receive a uniform allowance and compensation for time lost from employment because of court appearances, as well as be insured for life, accident and sickness coverage. Police reserve officers are not eligible to participate in any pension program provided for regular members of the Department.
   (C)   A police reserve officer may not be appointed until he or she has completed the training and probationary period specified by the rules of the Department.
   (D)   The term of office of such reserve officers shall be at the discretion of the Town Council.
