(A) The town requires all employees to report for work in a condition which allows them to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner. An employee will not be permitted to work under the influence of alcohol or with prohibited drugs in his or her system, thereby affecting job performance.
(B) A violation of any provision of this subchapter will be considered just cause for disciplinary action up to and including discharge, even for a first offense. In addition, a refusal to adhere to any part of the policy may be considered an act of insubordination and may also lead to disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
(C) This subchapter and related procedures may be modified by the town at any time in order to comply with any applicable federal, state or local laws or to better serve the needs of the town.
