(A) All residences, commercial buildings, apartments, and mobile homes shall place and maintain the address numbers assigned to them in a place that is visible and readable from the street that is their street address. Each digit of the address number shall be a minimum of three inches in height, and be a color so as to make it stand out distinctly against its background. Each address number shall be displayed in English. The address numbers may be placed directly on the structure or on any other suitable place. Whenever the address number is placed on any place other than the structure itself, it must be positioned as to allow the structure to be readily identified with the address number. Every separate apartment shall have its identifying letter or number, as described above, either on the main entry door or within 12 inches of that door. Every mobile home lot shall have its identifying letter or number, as described above, located in such a manner that it can be seen from the driveway or parking space assigned to that lot, and positioned so it identifies the lot it is assigned to.
(B) Whenever a residence, commercial building, apartment, or mobile home is located so that the principal accessway is other than the street it is on, such as an alley or a shared roadway, then the structure's identification, as described in this subchapter, shall be visible and readable from the accessway.
