(a) Prohibited Animals. No person shall own, keep, harbor or otherwise have control of any of the following enumerated animals at any premises, or on any property, public or private, within the corporate limits of the Village regardless of the size or location of the premises or property or the design thereof: all animals of the family Felidae including, but not limited to, lions, tigers, mountain lions (cougars, pumas), but excluding felis catus (domestic cat).
(b) Public Places. No person shall bring or cause to be brought on or to any public park, street, public right-of-way, sidewalk or other place within the Village dedicated to the public use, any animal designated in this section.
(c) Exceptions: Shows. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any circus or carnival.
(d) Exceptions: Veterinarian. The provisions of this section shall not apply to a doctor of veterinary medicine licensed by the State of Ohio when it is necessary in the course of professional duty to keep and treat an animal.
(e) Violation. Violation of this section is a minor misdemeanor and constitutes a nuisance subject to abatement as provided by the Ohio Revised Code or the Codified Ordinances of the Village, and shall be abated. (Ord. 87-45T. Passed 12-1-87.)
