There is hereby established the Planning Department, whose department head, appointed by the executive of the city, shall perform and/or supervise the performance of the following functions in addition to any and all other prescribed duties as set forth in Chapter 150 and such other duties as may otherwise be prescribed within the code:
(A) Review permit requests for new construction, remodeling, and accessory uses;
(B) Conduct zoning compliance inspections and enforcement of all zoning and building code violations;
(C) Inspection of construction of buildings;
(D) Function as staff for Advisory Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Historic Board of Review, each as defined inChapter 150;
(E) Issue occupancy permits, improvement permits, sign permits, and demolition permits;
(F) Perform all duties required by law or ordinance to be performed by the Building Commissioner;
(G) The head of the Planning Department shall also perform and/or supervise all duties designated as those of the Zoning Administrator, pursuant to Chapter 155; and
(H) The head of the Planning Department shall also perform and/or supervise all obligations of the City Building Inspector position.
