Each required stairwell in a building shall be identified with a letter and number. The letter shall start with A and the number will be the floor level; for example, stairwell A1 would be stairwell A on the first floor, and stairwell A2 would be stairwell A on the second floor. Each stairwell will have signage on the interior and exterior of each stairwell door indicating the stairwell letter/number designation. The stairwell with the roof access shall be labeled as well on each floor.
