(A) The Fire Chief, or the Fire Chief’s designee, shall possess the authority to enforce the provisions of this chapter, the State General Administrative Rules, State Fire Code, State Building Code, State Mechanical Code, State Fuel Gas Code, or any other rule of the Commission.
(B) Such enforcement shall include, but is not limited to:
(1) The prevention of fires;
(2) The handling, storage, sale, and use of flammable liquids, explosives, combustibles, and hazardous materials;
(3) The adequacy of means of egress from all places in which numbers of people live, work, or congregate from time to time for any purpose;
(4) The location, installation, and maintenance of smoke alarms, fire alarm systems, and fire suppression systems; and
(5) The existence of recognized hazardous conditions that present a clear and immediate hazard to life and property.
(C) The Fire Chief, or the Fire Chief’s designee, shall have the authority to initiate legal action in accordance with locally prescribed remedies applicable to violations of the State General Administrative Rules, State Fire Code, State Building Code, State Mechanical Code, State Fuel Gas Code, this chapter, or any other rule of the Commission. Violators of this chapter may be cited into any court having jurisdiction.
