(a) The following activities, among others, are declared to be nuisances in violation of this section. However, such enumeration shall not be deemed to be exclusive. No person shall be involved with any of the following within the City corporate limits:
(1) Manufacturing of acid;
(2) Manufacturing of glue;
(3) Manufacturing of gas;
(4) Manufacturing of cement, lime gypsum, or plaster of Paris;
(5) Manufacturing or storage of explosives;
(6) Manufacture, storage or dumping of nuclear waste;
(7) Manufacture, storage or dumping of hazardous waste;
(8) Refining of petroleum;
(9) Smelting of tin, copper, zinc or iron ore;
(10) Operation of sawmill;
(11) Operation of a tannery;
(12) Operation of salvage yards or junk yards;
(13) Distillation of bones; or
(14) The storage of any industrial by-product that would endanger the health or water supply of any resident of the community.

(b) Purchasers of gold, silver, copper, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, who operate within the confines of a building, and who maintain no outside storage or processing sites, and who maintain their premises in compliance with all relevant health codes so as to be insect and rodent free shall not be considered to operate a junkyard within the terms of this code or subsection (a) hereof. (c) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree. Each day on which a violation occurs or continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
