(a) Notification of the violation shall be sent to the last known address of the owner of the vehicle within twenty days after the violation or as soon as possible. This will only be necessary if the respective fine is not paid by that time.
(b) If a fine is not paid within thirty days of the date of the violation, and proper notification has been attempted as specified in subsection (a) hereof, a police officer may issue a citation requiring the appearance of the violator in the Highland County Court.
(c) Payment of the established fine constitutes a waiver of a right to trial unless a written demand for a trial is requested of the Court within thirty days of the violation.
(d) Moneys and tickets are to be collected at the Police Department. The moneys will be subsequently transferred to the City Treasurer for deposit.
(e) The Police Department shall have the authority to suspend tickets for reasonable cause (i.e., official business of City officials, court duty, or other exigent circumstances).
(f) Any ticket not paid within two years of the date of violation shall become null and void. (Ord. 12-01. Passed 4-18-01.)
