(a) There is hereby established a Department of Public Service to ensure the efficient and the economical operation of the City of Greenfield.
(b) The position of Public Service Director is hereby created with duties as prescribed in Chapter 139 of the Codified Ordinance Code of the City of Greenfield.
(c) The City Manager shall appoint the Public Service Director and the appointee shall serve at the pleasure of the City Manager.
(d) The Public Service Director shall supervise and oversee the operations of the Cemetery, Street, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant divisions.
(e) The Public Service Director shall make recommendations to the City Manager for operational and capital budgeting of the Department.
(f) The Public Service Director shall provide departmental leadership, day to day direction and management of the Cemetery, Street, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant divisions, including, but not limited to maintenance of all public ways, infrastructure and lands. (Ord. 20-08. Passed 8-5-08.)
