§ 150.47  STOP WORK ORDERS.
   Whenever any building or structure or part thereof is being constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, or demolished in a hazardous manner, or in substantial violation of this Code or any other applicable state or local building laws, or in a manner that endangers life or property, the inspector may order the specific part of the work that is in violation or presents such a hazard to be immediately stopped.
   (A)   The stop work order shall be in writing, directed to the person doing the work, with a copy to the owner of the property, and shall state the specific work to be stopped, the specific reasons therefore, and the conditions under which the work may be resumed.
   (B)   An owner or builder may appeal a stop work order. Any appeals of stop work orders shall be done in accordance with G.S. § 160D-1114.
   (C)   Violation of a stop work order shall constitute a misdemeanor.
