(A) Office established. The County Public Defender’s Office is hereby established. The County Public Defender Board shall administer and supervise the Office of the County Public Defender’s Office and further shall have the powers and duties previously established by the Board of Commissioners.
(B) Authority to approve or disapprove claims. The Public Defender or Chief Deputy Public Defender in the absence of the Public Defender shall be authorized to approve or disapprove claims that are submitted to the County Council for payment under the budget for the County Public Defender’s Office.
(C) Effective date. This section shall be in full force and effect upon passage, approval and publication.
